Kia ora whānau,
We hope you enjoyed the Matariki celebration as much as we did. Thank you to those who were able to come. If you haven’t already, check out the video on our facebook page. Holger Pfab did a great job of capturing the essence of who we are at Grow and we are grateful for the time he put in to make this video for us. Grow is starting to change as our older children move into the Kopukairoa room.
As we become busier we would ask that you take extra care in the carpark area when dropping children off and collecting them. Please drive in and out slowly. As you exit the building hold on to your child/ren’s hands. Just a reminder that it is a condition of enrolment that children driven to and from the centre must travel in an approved child’s car seat or restraint in accordance with Traffic Regulations.
Welcome to our New Staff
We welcome new teachers Tanya Newman to the Hikurangi Room and Erin Webb to the Mangatawa Room. Joanna Scown will be teaching part time and Amy Mellor who will be working as our Childcare Assistant across the centre. Please introduce yourselves to our new staff members. We wish them all the best in their work here at Grow ECE.
Look out for our newsletter which we will email you at the beginning of each month. We can provide a hard copy if this is your preference. Like all new centres we are navigating our way and looking at creating systems and procedures that will work best for us.
Shorts 4 Waipuna
We recently participated in this worthwhile fundraising event for the Waipuna Hospice and raised $50. The children looked fantastic in their shorts and we were pleasantly surprised to be a winning entry in their campaign.
News from the Office
This is a friendly reminder to parents / caregivers that all children need to be signed in and out daily. Please ensure you use pen when signing as pencil is not accepted by the Ministry of Education. The button to exit Grow ECE is only for adults to press, this is for the safety of your children and we ask that you respect this and please do not lift your children up to press the button for you.
You may not be aware that your child’s attendance is reported every month and is submitted to the Ministry of Education in relation to funding purposes. Please note that your booking time must reflect your child’s attendance daily. If you are not attending to your booking time you may be requested by the Ministry of Education to change your booking time. Please call our Office Administrator Rachel if you have an queries regarding this.
Important Notice: Rachel will be away from Friday 4th August for a week as she is going to Rarotonga. Rachel will return to work on Monday 14th August. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any urgent matters during this time. As you are aware all invoices are sent out on Mondays for the current week attending. Before Rachel heads off on her holiday, accounts will be sent out to all parents as their status on Thursday 3rd August for the week ending Friday 11th August. This means you may see your invoice showing more than one week of attendance if payment has not been made into the Grow ECE bank account by Thursday. Payments are always due on Friday for the current week attending. If you have any questions regarding your account please don’t hesitate to call or email and talk to Rachel.
