Kia ora whānau,
You may have heard about cohort entry into primary schools and wonder what this means. Cohort entry is when new entrants start in groups, at specific times of the year. At the moment most schools start children on their fifth birthday or soon after. This is known as continuous entry. Schools are in the process of consulting with families and their community including Early Childcare Centres and deciding on whether they will have a continuous or cohort entry.

January 2018 Newsletter

Kia ora whānau,
Welcome to 2018. It seems hard to believe that we are only two years away from 2020. The weather has certainly kept us all rather warm over the last weeks. We hope you have had some opportunities to relax and enjoy family time.
We are pleased to tell you at the end of 2017 we gained our full licence with the Ministry of Education. Early Childhood centres, like schools must meet many regulations and licensing criteria. All new centres that open are given a provisional licence and aim to obtain a full licence after a year of operation.

December 2017 Newsletter

Kia ora whānau,
December is generally a very busy month for most and it is no different at Grow. We have our Christmas party on Thursday 21st from 4.00- 5.30pm and teachers and children are busy preparing for this. We can’t wait to celebrate with families and share some quality time with you. In the last week before Christmas our directors have suggested we begin to wind down, which is music to our ears. If the warm weather continues we may just have to have lots of water play activities. Just wondering if this might mean the teachers have to bring a spare set of clothes?
